The Bikes

1 down, and 1 to go.  John decided early on that a Harley “Road King” would be his weapon of choice.  We found a cherry 2004 Road King Classic in Escondido.  11,000 miles on it, tons of chrome, and it looked like it was straight off the show-room floor. Bought it today. :yeha:

The paint job is a white pearl, and it has an amazing deep white paint job that does look like a pearl.

Dad's Road King Classic

Sam is still debating about either a Road King or one of the Dyna series Harleys.  Tough call for an 18YO, as the Road Kings ride nicer, but the Dyna’s have more of a “biker” look.

We took the RK out to a parking lot to practice riding (and got yelled at by security ).  It weighs 750lbs  (400 more than my dirt bike), so it will take some getting used to.

I really gotta get a leather jacket.  I just don’t think the dirt-bike enduro jacket look is going to catch on with the HOG riders.  Sam found a 2001 black Harley Dyna SuperGlide  (an FXD in Harley terms).

Sam's Dyna

We’re adding saddle bags to it, a rear rack for camping gear, and “mini-ape” handle bars.
